Pulogadung Motor Vehicle Testing Management Unit (UP PKB), East Jakarta is now using Electronic Data Capture (EDC) machine for people who want to pay their vehicle testing (KIR) fees. The use of EDC machine is currently being trialled from Wednesday (1/5) to Friday (1/7).

By using EDC machine, practice of gratification can be avoided

Pulogadung UP PKB Administration Sub-division Head, Fatchuri conveyed, policy that regulated retribution payment using EDC machine was implemented to avoid practice of gratification on customer service officers.

Moreover, he added, Pulogadung UP PKB is the only motor vehicle testing unit in Indonesia that received Integrity Zone (ZI) award for Clean and Serving Bureaucratic Region (WBBM) and Corruption-Free Zone (WBK) in 2021 from Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform last December.

"By using EDC machine, practice of gratification can be avoided. For example, retribution fee is Rp 90,000, then taxpayer pay it using Rp 100,000, but they don't want to take the change of Rp 10,000 and hand it over to counter officer," he said, Thursday (1/6).

According to him, transaction using EDC machine will be applied next week. Currently, his side prepared two EDC machines to serve KIR taxpayers every day.

Besides, transaction can be also made through available automated teller machine (ATM) or M-banking. Because all service system have been carried out online. Including booking orders.

"The first trial went smoothly. Because customer service officers have been trained on how to use EDC machine," he stated.

He informed that his side has also prepared special service for people with disability who want to take KIR test.

"We provide special service for people with disability since six months ago," he closed.
